First Light on the Camera

December 21, 2018

This week we managed to get the system’s camera to see light for the first time. This took a bit more work than anticipated as the serial interface we are using would not play nice with Putty. After troubleshooting for a couple of evenings, we found that it was easier to just use the screen command in Linux. Seem apropos as all of the development has been on Ubuntu machines so far.

Soon we hope to have a version of the hardware serving up real-time images from the lab.
